Here's a really tasty way to get some awesome omega-3s in your diet. I love crab cakes, so I thought I'd try to make them with mackerel instead. They're so good!!! I buy pork panko here, but you can make your own by crushing up pork rinds if you prefer. This dish is carnivore (except for the seasoning) and has only one gram of carb.
Mash a can of mackerel (or other small, cold-water, oily fish - drained).
Add to fish and mix well:
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup pork panko
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
Form 2 cakes and fry them in an air fryer (I do mine on max crisp for 5 minutes each side) or on the stove in butter or the oil from the fish can until toasty on both sides.
