Business Cards

Business Cards

Had a great question today about what to put on business cards. Most people use them as a little billboard to tell people all about their service so they can get them as a client. Do you know what happens to these cards when you give them to people? They get thrown away.

Instead of seeing a card as a way to get a client, see it as having only one job - to get them to sign up for your email list.

I won't even put my email address on my cards, because I would previously wind up on others' email lists after they got my card. It's redundant, anyway. If someone wants to email you they can go to your website where it should be easy to find your email address or click a button to send you an email. You want them to go to your website where they can easily sign up for your email list.

Here's my all-time most successful business card, which I still use today. It has only my headshot on the front, and on the back I tell them who I am, the main benefit of working with me (a tagline), and direct them (don't ask or invite, tell them) to go to my website and sign up for my free audio file. That's it. Then you can give them lots of great info once you have them on your site and in your system.
